In spite of the Covid restrictions, communication by video worked well. Dr Birtle explained the planned treatment and possible side effects very thoroughly, and was very open to addressing our questions. My (clinically-trained) wife appreciated the fact that she had answered all her questions before she had to ask them! The ensuing treatment at the Rosemere Cancer Unit was scheduled in detail and occurred without any significant hitch or delay. The staff at Rosemere were all incredibly helpful and supportive, and able to deal with questions about side effects as they occurred. The whole process was exceptionally well-organized and delivered with quiet efficiency - could not have hoped for better. I am now looking forward to the post-treatment review meeting as I now have total confidence in her clinical judgement.

Prof. Birtle is a very kind and caring person who listened to me, answered all of my questions and reassured me totally. I'm sure that with her I will get the best possible care and attention in the best possible way.

Professor Birtle has been my concultant for the past 4 years and she has guided me through two courses of chemotherapy and one of radiotherapy, she has always given me all the information and support I needed, during the pandemic it's been a difficult time and we have had to have some hard conversations, during which she and her team have kept me informed and made me feel at ease and feeling my care is on safe hands. Many thanks.

First consultation with Dr Birtle today and face to face too, however bunting and cakes would have been nice!! I can only say this went very well and my wife Tracy agrees. Plenty of information but not an overload. I was able to appreciate my stage of cancer and type, treatment and the impact of it. I feel positive about how I will be treated and all staff up to now who have dealt with me have been wonderful, approachable, professional and friendly. I feel I am in very safe hands and onwards and upwards.
